NBA world, I am so thankful Christian Wood is not out for the remainder of the season. In Thursday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, Wood suffered an ankle sprain, forcing him to possibly miss a significant amount of time. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will be back soon. To start, this guy has been more than just obviously a Most Improved Player this year, although that award should have his name craved in the trophy.
Christian Wood has shown why he is an All-Star. I honestly thought he would be the reason James Harden would decide to stay with Houston this year and run it back. I think the Rockets have themselves a gem with Wood. His versatility to the team somewhat of a Big Three alongside John Wall and James Harden. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. But with this new Rockets team, we all know that when Wood comes back he will be that guy who puts this team to higher standards.

Houston needs to continue to build and put the right pieces around Wood. Although he still has to prove that he can be a number one option, Wood can be that missing piece to a championship team or he can build that team in Houston. If Wood continues to show signs of greatness, I see comparisons to Anthony Davis or Kevin Garnett. Wood does more of a shorter version compared to those two, but that is fine. He still gets the job done and plays at an elite level. Christian Wood has one hell of a story that has gotten him in the best position. I hope he continues to prove people who doubted him wrong.
